Conférence "Les rêves brisés de Napoléon" par Laëtitia de Witt et Franco Borruto

Le 14 octobre 1815, le navire de Sa Majesté britannique le Northumberland jette l’ancre dans la baie de Sainte-Hélène. Sa Majesté Napoléon 1er, fraichement redevenu pour les anglais le Général Bonaparte, entre en captivité.
Du pont du navire, il regarde l’ile qui sera sa prison et son tombeau. Que se passe-t-il dans la tête de Sa Majesté en apercevant les contours de Jamestown capitale de Sainte-Hélène ? Située sur la côte, s’étirant sur 1,5 kilomètres, dépourvue de port, l’île est lugubre, encaissée entre deux montagnes. Sûrement l’Empereur pense à d’autres mois d’octobre qui ont changé sa vie. Par exemple, le 13 vendémiaire (5 octobre) 1795 et la répression de l’insurrection royaliste, le 14 octobre 1806 et la bataille d’Iéna, mais aussi son mariage avec l’archiduchesse d'Autriche Marie-Louise, décidé en octobre 1809.
Parmi les pensées de Napoléon, son fils, né d’un accouchement laborieux aux forceps le 20 mars 1811. Il ne le reverra jamais plus.
La conférence raconte quels sont les rêves et les projets de Napoléon et ce qu’il en reste, 200 ans après.

An exceptional violin designed and made by the students and their violin making teacher, Roberto Masini, will be presented on this occasion. The Academy's violin making workshop was created on the initiative of Prince Rainier III and opened its doors on October 1st 1977.

It was in this year that the first Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival got off to a flying start, the brainchild of Prince Rainier III, a circus enthusiast whose passion had remained unknown to the public until then.
Here, in music and through time, is the gentle tale of a circus artist who lived, from the sidelines, one of the world's greatest circus adventures!

Depuis 1999, près de 190 000 marcheurs occasionnels et coureurs chevronnés ont participé à ce marathon du cœur. Conjuguant leurs efforts sportifs à la générosité, ils ont parcouru plus de 5 122 815 kilomètres et permis de reverser plus de 5 448 620 euros à des projets en faveur d’enfants malades ou défavorisés.
Cette année encore, pour la 26ème édition, du 15 au 23 novembre, l’objectif est ambitieux : parcourir 325 000 km pour collecter 325 000 euros et accueillir 14 000 participants.
