Lecture by Bruno FULIGNI - ‘Monaco and the French-speaking world in penguin country: French Southern and Antarctic Lands’

Writer, historian and lecturer at Sciences Po, Bruno FULIGNI is the author of some forty books, the latest of which, ‘Voyage en France australe’ (Journey to Southern France), was published in 2025 by Allary Éditions and won him the Pythéas Prize at the Monaco International Book Fair in September 2025. On 24 March, he will invite us to ‘embark with him across time and the ocean, to the French Southern and Antarctic Lands (TAAF)’.

"Bruno FULIGNI has visited these distant lands, the French Southern and Antarctic Lands (TAAF): the Crozet, Kerguelen, Amsterdam and Saint-Paul islands, and their tropical cousins, the Scattered Islands: Europa, Bassas da India, Juan de Nova, the Glorieuses and Tromelin. These are magical places, the archives of which Bruno FULIGNI was the first to open,‘ and he also discovered ’The Prince of Monaco Islands" in the Kerguelen archipelago. They were named in honour of Albert I. Continuing his remarks, Bruno FULIGNI will be sure to mention Albert II's interest in the Southern Territories.
