Monaco Athletics Festival: a new major high jump event in Monaco
The Principality of Monaco will host the Monaco Athletics Festival on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. This is the first edition of this new urban athletics event that celebrates the high jump: a spectacular and free sporting competition, open to all on the Quai Albert Ier.
A unique event featuring the biggest names in high jump
This new high jump competition is organized in partnership between the Monegasque Athletics Federation (FMA) and Mutaz Barshim, three-time world champion and Olympic champion in the discipline.
Mutaz Barshim, an iconic figure in high jump, has helped create an innovative competition format called the What Gravity Challenge, which aims to make athletics more spectacular and accessible to the general public through original urban formats. The Monaco Athletics Festival is part of this dynamic, welcoming the world's best high jumpers to a unique urban setting.
