A prestigious setting for a historic start

It is in the unique setting of the Principality that the riders will set off for this 81st edition of the Vuelta. Port Hercule, Place du Casino and the famous turns of the Formula 1 circuit will offer a spectacular urban route for the opening prologue, before the race heads towards neighbouring France and then Spain.

The choice of Monaco underlines the Principality’s international influence and its commitment to major sporting events. After hosting the start of the Tour de France in 2009 and many other prestigious competitions, Monaco once again asserts itself as a world-class stage for sport.

A cycling festival for everyone

Alongside the official start, many activities will be offered: recreational rides for amateurs, exhibitions dedicated to the Vuelta, meetings with the teams and festive villages around the Port and Place du Casino. Residents and visitors will thus be able to experience up close the excitement of this great cycling celebration.
