OPERA DE MONTE-CARLO CARMEN
Il est aujourd’hui difficile d’imaginer que Carmen ait pu connaître l’échec lors de sa création à l’Opéra-Comique en 1875. Sans doute son audace en futelle la cause : l’histoire d’un amour impossible entre Don José, soldat droit mais d’une touchante naïveté, et Carmen, bohémienne farouchement libre, dont la franchise brûlante et le refus des conventions sociales forcent l’admiration jusqu’au sacrifice ultime.
