 Chamber Choir and Orchestra. First performed in 1742\, the Messiah (HW
 V 56) is an oratorio for choir\, soloists and orchestra that remains o
 ne of the greatest musical masterpieces of all time. The work contains
  many well-known arias\, breath-taking choruses\, and conveys an emoti
 onal intensity that still thrills to this day\, more than 250 years af
 ter the composer's death. This annual concert\, renowned in the region
